John Emrick is a lead partner in MirRam’s New York State lobbying practice. He joined MirRam Group in 2016, after serving for seven years as both a senior advisor and Chief of Staff in the NYS Senate. During his tenure in State government, he had unique input on every major legislative and budgetary decision facing New York State.
Over seven legislative sessions and State-budgets, John has been at the center of negotiations with the Executive and NYS Assembly. In 2014 & 2016, City & State recognized John as one of Albany’s Most Influential on its Power 100 lists.
Prior to joining the State Senate, John served in numerous roles for New York City and New York State candidates including NYC Mayor, Bronx Borough President, NYC Council, and NYS Assembly & Senate.
In addition to MirRam, John joined the Hamilton Campaign Network (HCN) at its creation in 2016, serving as President. At HCN he oversaw operations where the organization served as lead consultant in a dozen races during the 2016 election cycle from Congress to State Senate, and State Assembly – winning each race. He continued HCN’s history-making success in 2017 & 2018 by leading the firm which elected the first African-American woman as NYS Attorney General and the first Latino District Attorney in Brooklyn.
John is a graduate of Fordham University, and native of Lancaster, PA. He resides in the Bronx with his wife and 2 children.
